Today, instead of writing feverishly like I should be while Logan is in nursery school, I am writing a paragraph or two and then switching my screen over to the web…reading funny tweets, people’s Facebook statuses, you get the idea. Not working nearly as fast or hard as I should be.
But what the hell, it’s Friday. And I’m tired.
Plus, if I had been working and not occasionally (ok, frequently) checking Twitter I might not have come across this story. It is a story about women who have been helping their community but have kept it a secret – even from their husband’s - for 30 years. Now that is a sisterhood – and a good secret. And quite honestly, I’m amazed that they were able to do it. It not only made me crave pound cake (I LOVE pound cake) but it reminded me of the movie Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. While it may have been a bit cheesy, it was a good story. I always wanted to have a reason to bang my phone on the counter like Sandra Bullock.
And have a big sprawling country escape. But I digress.
Anyway, it’s a nice feel-good read for a Friday. Now I’m going back to work…and maybe to find me a piece of pound cake.
